The COVID-19 pandemic has directed bigotry and racism at the Asian American community, which has been scapegoated for the spread of the novel coronavirus. The Jewish community, similarly, has been the target of conspiracy theories regarding the virus, fitting into a historical pattern of antisemitism.
The American Jewish Committee has organized a community conversation with the Council of Korean Americans, the Japan-America Society of State of Washington, and the United Chinese Americans of Washington State to elevate the voices of those affected and to engage with Congressional candidates seeking to represent our respective communities in Washington, DC. The conversation will highlight recent and historical experience with discrimination, and will offer leading candidates for the Washington 10th Congressional District a chance to share their perspective and insight.
Join us for this community conversation Community Solidarity at a Time of Crisis with WA-10 Congressional Candidates organized by The American Jewish Council on Tuesday, May 26th at 4:00 PM.
