Events

As part of our mission to promote mutual understanding and friendship between the people of Japan and Washington State, we provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and information. To support this mission, we host a variety of events, from business seminars to culinary experiences featuring Japanese chefs, celebrating the rich diversity of our community.

Fundraising Events

JASSW hosts three major fundraising events each year: the Annual Meeting in spring, the Golf Tournament in summer, and the Holiday Celebration Dinner in winter. Proceeds from corporate sponsorships, ticket sales, auction and raffle sales, and other donations support programs that advance JASSW’s mission of fostering mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of Japan and Washington State.

JAS-NET stands for Japan-America Society Networking—a casual and engaging networking series hosted by the Japan-America Society of the State of Washington (JASSW). It’s designed to connect young professionals and students with seasoned leaders and professionals from a wide range of industries and generations.

Originally launched as informal social gatherings like karaoke nights, JAS-NET has since expanded to include speaker sessions and panel discussions. These events offer meaningful opportunities for our professional community to share insights, exchange ideas, and learn from one another—followed by fun networking hours with great food and drinks.

Other Events

JASSW hosts a variety of business seminars featuring leaders from industry and academia. Some events are exclusive to our members, while others are open to the public.

In addition to business programs, our Education Program also co-hosts the annual Japanese Language Festival in collaboration with the Washington Association of Teachers of Japanese (WATJ). This event promotes Japanese language learning among K–12 students across Washington State.
