The mission of the Japan-America Society of the State of Washington is to promote mutual understanding and friendship between the people of Japan and Washington State by providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and information.

Founded in 1923, JASSW is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (Tax ID# 23-7282194) of corporate and individual members. JASSW is one of approximately forty affiliates of the National Association of Japan-America Societies headquartered in Washington, DC.
