Last night we gathered as a community to ‘Raise a Toast’ to the Tokyo Olympics and fundraise for the Society’s programs at our 98th Holiday Celebration and Auction.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who joined our 98th Holiday Celebration & Auction live event last night! It was a big success and we sincerely hope you enjoyed it! Whether it was by playing our AM/PM games, watching the live stream, bidding on auction packages, or buying last-minute raffle tickets, we cannot thank you all enough for the support!

Our program featured incredible musical performances from the Evergreen Glee Club, Okinawa Taiko, Jazz featuring Society board member and past chair Chris Helm, and a special performance by Jake Shimabukuro.

We received special messages from three different Japanese Olympic Athletes. Ryo Kiyuna discussed how he prepared for the 2020 Olympics amidst the uncertainty of COVID. Misato Nakamura shared her experience as a torchbearer for the Tokyo Olympics and about her new project “Stand Up Judo”. Finally, Mika Sugimoto shared a message of encouragement and hope.

An extra special shout-out to all of our sponsors and donors who helped make this event a huge success! We couldn’t have done it without you all! Arigato gozaimashita!

If you didn’t get a chance to watch the event live you can watch the recording on YouTube:
