Communications Coordinator (Paid Internship – Part-Time)

The Japan-America Society of the State of Washington (JASSW) is seeking a Communications Coordinator (Paid Internship – Part-Time) to support our communications, outreach, and digital engagement efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and community engagement within a nonprofit organization focused on strengthening U.S.–Japan relations.

You will work closely with the Executive Director and Program Manager to help promote JASSW’s programs and events, maintain our member and donor database, and strengthen the Society’s public presence. Key responsibilities include updating the website, preparing social media posts, designing e-newsletters, managing contact records, and tracking engagement metrics.

As part of a small, collaborative team, you’ll receive mentorship and training in tools like WordPress, Canva, Constant Contact, and CRM systems. Over time, you’ll be encouraged to take increasing ownership of your responsibilities and grow your confidence as an independent contributor.

This is a paid, part-time position (approximately 24 hours/week during the summer, with flexible hours during academic terms). International students on OPT (Optional Practical Training) visas are welcome to apply. We are also open to adjusting the schedule for candidates who can work additional hours.
