U.S. withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade agreement has potentially cost Washington state businesses significant new market opening opportunities in the Asia Pacific. US-China-Japan trade relations face an increasingly fragmented, complicated trade policy environment.

The panel will discuss three questions:

  • What approaches would offer Washington businesses and other stakeholders the greatest opportunities related to China and Japan along with their regional supply chains?
  • What are the implications for seaports, maritime security, and logistics management?
  • Which policy options may not be advantageous, or potentially have a negative impact on Washington State?
